“Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and once it has done so, [they] will have to accept that [their] life will be radically changed.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Pennwood is a 2o acre farm in the rolling green hills of Columbus, North Carolina.  With beautiful springs and hot southern summers,  we do dress for winter, but the snows are rarely more than 1' deep and don't stay long.  The path to the barn is always open.  The farm is managed with an eye to excellence and detail.  The calm atmosphere of the farm is conducive to successful riding and training.
